Show business runs in Sherrie’s blood. By the age of six, Sherrie was in revues around the country, tap-dancing and singing. After training at RADA, she embarked on a long and varied career with TV parts in various shows including Z Cars, Home to Roost, Lovejoy, Haggard, The Bill, Minder, Emmerdale and Coronation Street. Before Coronation Street, she was best known for her regular comedy appearances with Russ Abbott.
Her film credits include Carry On Behind and The Slipper and The Rose, and she appeared with Amanda Barrie in the original stage production of Stepping Out. Sherrie has recently appeared with Wayne Sleep in an excellent tour of “Arsenic and Old Lace” and fits her involvement with The Jill Clewes Academy for Performing Arts around a hectic TV schedule where she is a regular presenter of the daytime TV show Loose Women, and is also currently filming the new series of Benidorm.
